Norman Rockwell Museum Director Attends White House celebration for education new initiatives with Rockwell Artwork
May 9th, 2008Norman Norman Rockwell Museum Director / CEO Laurie Norton Moffatt attended a special event at the White House on February 26, hosted by President and Mrs George Bush, to help celebrate the launch of “Picturing americas”, a new educational initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities (Neh). 1943 Norman Rockwell painting of the “Freedom of Expression” was chosen as one of 40 iconic images to be included in the initiative, developed by Neh in partnership with American Library, to improve education The study and understanding of U.S. history and culture so that some of the country’s biggest works of art in the classrooms and public libraries.
